In 2024, HM Shahrazad (they/them) celebrated 20 years as one of Toronto’s most reputable and enduring Professional Dominatrices. After a decade as an independent dominant and kink educator they founded The Ritual Chamber, a professional and lifestyle dungeon and sought-after hub for kinky community events, workshops, private dungeon rentals, and professional play sessions. In 2016, they were awarded the title of Ms. Leather Toronto and later that year, the title of International Person of Leather 2016. In these capacities, they travelled over 60,000 miles through Canada, the United States and Europe, visiting BDSM and alternative lifestyle communities, and teaching, organizing, and advocating for the right to freedom of erotic expression. They are particularly proud of having contributed to the organization and launch of the first Hungarian BDSM Conference, which took place in the fall of 2016 in Budapest.
As an educator, they have created and facilitated over 85 original BDSM and kink workshops, and continue to take great pleasure in sharing accessible, clear, and practical BDSM knowledge that is grounded in a psychological and spiritual base. As a mentor to up-and-coming Professional Dominants, they trained over 50 individuals through both The Ritual Chamber “house dominant” staff mentorship structure and the BIPOC Professional Dominance Mentorship Program, in the business and practical/theoretical skill of professional BDSM. In this capacity they emphasized ethical considerations, the healing potential of BDSM, and sustainable long-term practice. Many of their trainees continue to thrive as successful independent dominants in Toronto and abroad.
As a professional dominant, they have personally guided over 5000 people to date towards greater healing, self-awareness, self-acceptance and fulfillment through the medium of consensual erotic power exchange. They have tremendous gratitude for the bonds of trust and intimacy that were forged as a result and hold close to their heart every sacred shared experience. Although it is time for them to step a little ways out of the public eye to nurture and grow their psychotherapy practice, they will continue to offer kink education/consultation/training, professional play sessions*, workshops and mentorship for BDSM professionals.
