Consent, Harm and Empowerment: A Submissive’s Perspective

with Apples

Being submissive is often associated with being powerless or giving power away. Taken a step deeper, a powerless person is not capable of causing harm, since they theoretically have no control in the situation. Yet most tops will tell you that they have felt used by a bottom at one point or another, and this particular cycle of harm is often not discussed or addressed. When you attend this workshop, we will explore what consensual submission looks like, the harm created when power exchange is assumed without consent, and how to cultivate the skills necessary for equal, empowered relating in BDSM dynamics and beyond.

*Before the class: Reflect on what submission means to you.
